Overview

Zhangjiajie & Fenghuang private tour

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is famous for its quartz-sandstone pillars — over three thousand of them, and in mist they genuinely appear to float, which is why Avatar filmed here. Tianmen Mountain adds a glass walkway and 99 hairpin bends. Two hours west, Fenghuang old town straddles the Tuo River.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Zhangjiajie & Fenghuang.

How much walking is there?

Some, but cable cars, the Bailong elevator and shuttle buses cover most of it, so elderly guests manage well. We put you on a vehicle wherever possible.

Which season is best?

April to June and September to November are most comfortable. July and August are hot and busy; December to February brings snow and rime, which is beautiful but some cable cars may stop.

Are there direct flights from Hong Kong?

Yes. Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport has flights to and from Hong Kong, subject to seasonal schedules. We can also route via Changsha or Guangzhou.
