High-speed rail — about 3.5 hours from West Kowloon to Guilin. Taiwan travellers can fly into Guilin Liangjiang or connect via Guangzhou or Xiamen.
How long is the Li River cruise?
The full Guilin to Yangshuo route is about four hours by four-star boat, lunch included. For a shorter option, the Xingping section takes about 1.5 hours.
Is Longji worth the detour?
Yes, but seasonally. May (flooded terraces) and September (ripe rice) are the most spectacular; winter is quieter. It is about three hours by road, so stay a night.
